Septuagint in the Synoptic Gospels
I. Triple Tradition

The Voice Calling in the Desert

Mt/Mk/Lk are identical, and are almost exact quote except "his paths" rather than "our God's paths."
John has ἐὐθύνατε (straighten) instead of ἐτοιμάσατε (prepare) and omits the second clause.

Ever Hearing But Never Understanding

Matthew and Acts are both exact quote. Mark and Luke quote only Isa 6:9, more loosely and shorter, and both reverse the order of “hearing” and “seeing”.
John's quotation of Isa 6:10 is nearer the Hebrew than the LXX.

The Commandments

The order of the Ten Commandments is different in LXX from HMT (murder comes after adultery and stealing in Exodus, and murder and adultery switch places in Deuteronomy). Jesus' quote follows the HMT and not the LXX order. But only Matthew has the same future tense, Mk/Lk both use subjunctive. (See also You Shall Not Murder, Commit Adultery.) Note that only Mark has μὴ ἀποστερήσῃς (do not defraud). NIV Notes: "The prohibition of fraud may have represented the tenth commandment (against covetousness). If so, Jesus here mentions all six commandments that prohibit wrong actions and attitudes against one’s fellowman."

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself

Exact quote (Lk 10:27 omits ἀγαπήσεις because it was in the previous clause). "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

House of Prayer, Den of Robbers

The Synoptic text combines Isaiah and Jeremiah. Note only Mark has the phrase πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν (for all the nations).

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

Mark 12:26 περὶ δὲ τῶν νεκρῶν ὅτι ἐγείρονται οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ἐν τῇ βίβλῳ Μωϋσέως ἐπὶ τοῦ βάτου πῶς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς λέγων· ἐγὼ ὁ θεὸς Ἀβραὰμ καὶ [ὁ] θεὸς Ἰσαὰκ καὶ [ὁ] θεὸς Ἰακώβ;

The phrase "God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" is sometimes preceded with "The Lord" or "The God of your father(s)".

Love the Lord with All Your Heart, Soul, etc.

LXX has three items: καρδίας (heart), ψυχῆς (soul), and δυνάμεως (power), with preposition ἐξ. Matt also has three items but replaces δυνάμεως with διανοίᾳ (mind), and changes the preposition to ἐν. Mark has four items, replacing δυνάμεως with διανοίᾳ and ἰσχύος (strength). Luke has the same four items as Mark but reverses the order of διανοίᾳ and ἰσχύος; the first preposition retains ἐξ, while the latter three changes to ἐν.

Your Enemies a Footstool
Ps 110:1 (LXX 109:1) τῷ Δαυιδ ψαλμός εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου Matt 22:44 εἶπεν κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου· κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου, ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν σου;

Heb 1:13 πρὸς τίνα δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἴρηκέν ποτε· κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου, ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου;

The Heb and 1Cor passages only have the second half or partial quote. With the exception of 1Cor, all are exact quote, or very close to exact quote (Mt/Mk replaces ὑποπόδιον with ὑποκάτω).
